This is the last picture of Bruce, my dog, he was very sick at this point and, although not suffering, had lost a lot of weight.
In his basket like that, he seemed quite embryonic. He loved his basket from being a puppy and spent a lot of time there (he could be lazy!).
It occurred to me that this image of him on his death bed is symbolic of his entire lifespan.
